About Manga Download

The free manga downloader we wanted to use

Reading manga offline should take one link and one file. Not a scraper script, not a folder of loose images, and not twelve pop-ups on the way out.

Our story

It started with a small annoyance. Reading a series offline meant hunting down a scraper, waiting for it to finish, then renaming a folder of loose images by hand. Every tool that promised to fix it either broke the week a site changed its markup, or buried the download button under four pop-ups.

So we built the shortest path instead. Paste a chapter link. The parser reads the page structure, finds every chapter, and packs them into a CBZ or ZIP that opens straight away in Mihon, Komga, Kavita, or Panels. No install. No card.

It grew from there. Hundreds of sources, a detection layer that gets retrained when sites rewrite themselves, and a free tier that stays free. We are still building the tool we wanted on day one, and the readers using it decide what lands next.

The MangaDownload.io downloader detecting chapters from a pasted manga link
One link in, every chapter detected. The whole product in a single screen.

From link to library in three steps

The entire flow, start to finish. It takes about as long as reading this sentence twice.

  1. Paste a chapter link

Any chapter page from a supported manga, manhwa or webtoon site. No extension to install, no account to create, nothing to configure first.

  2. The parser reads the page

It works out the page structure the way a browser does, finds every chapter in the series, and lists them so you can pick a range instead of the whole run.

  3. A CBZ lands in your downloads

Chapters are packed into a CBZ or ZIP with sortable names, then the copy on our side is deleted. Open it in Mihon, Komga, Kavita or Panels and read offline.

Meet Igris

The knight who runs the front desk. He is the reason this site does not talk to you like a billing department.

2 downloads today, Hunter. Spend them well. When the counter runs dry, come back tomorrow or take the rank. Either way I am here.

Readers here grew up on manhwa where the hero opens a glowing panel and the System tells him what he can do. That is the language we speak, so the site speaks it too. Igris is our shadow knight: loyal, direct, and built to serve the person on the other side of the screen rather than the invoice.

He shows up at the moments that usually feel hostile on other sites. When your daily quota runs out, he tells you plainly, shows the numbers, and offers a way forward. No countdown timer, no dark pattern, no button that pretends to close and opens an ad.

  • Unranked A traveller passing through. No account, no card, 2 downloads a day of up to 15 chapters each.
  • F-Rank Registered. Igris knows your name, the quota rises to 5 a day and 20 chapters, and it still costs nothing.
  • S-Rank The daily counter comes off entirely and 100 chapters fit in one download. You keep the engine running, and he keeps the ads away.

Every rank is on the pricing page, side by side, with nothing held back for a footnote.

What we believe

Four rules that decide what we build, and what we refuse to.

System ruleRULE 01

Nothing between you and the page

Aggregator sites made pop-ups the price of reading. We took the other side of that trade. Guests see ads because servers cost money, and we say so plainly instead of hiding it. S-Rank turns them off for good. No fake close buttons, no redirects, nothing that follows you after you leave.

System ruleRULE 02

The file is yours, not ours

Archives are assembled on demand and wiped when the transfer ends. We keep a record of what you fetched so your history works, and we keep none of the pages. There is nothing on our disks worth asking us for, and that is deliberate.

System ruleRULE 03

Ship, then sharpen

Speed is a feature. A parser that works today beats a perfect one next quarter, so we cut scope hard and put it in front of readers early. Then we come back and file the edges. Every source we support started as a rough version somebody asked for.

System ruleRULE 04

Readers set the roadmap

Site requests come from Discord, not from a planning meeting. When a source breaks, tell us and it goes to the front of the queue. No ego about who spotted it or who fixes it. Asking for help is a sign of strength here, not the opposite.

Questions readers actually ask

The short answers. The rest live on the FAQ page.

Is MangaDownload.io really free?

Yes. Without an account you get 2 downloads a day, up to 15 chapters each. A free account raises that to 5 a day and 20 chapters, and never asks for a card. S-Rank is the paid rank that removes the daily limit and the ads, and it is the thing that pays for the servers.

Do you host manga on your servers?

No. There is no library or catalogue here. The engine reads a page you point it at, packs what it finds into an archive, sends it to you, and deletes its copy. Rightsholders can send a notice and we blacklist the domain from the engine for everyone.

What file format do I get?

CBZ by default, ZIP if you prefer it. CBZ is the universal comic archive format, so the file opens directly in Mihon, Komga, Kavita, Panels, Kotatsu, Calibre and anything else that reads comics. Up to 100 chapters can go into a single download at S-Rank.

Which manga sites are supported?

Around 500+ sources covering manga, manhwa, manhua and webtoons. The detection layer is retrained when sites rewrite their markup, and S-Rank readers can ask us to add a new site straight from the not-supported notice, or on Discord.

Do I need an account to download manga?

No. You can paste a link and take chapters as a guest with nothing signed and nothing stored. A free account raises the daily quota and the chapters per download, and gives you a download history you can come back to.

Try it on the next chapter you read

2 downloads a day as a guest, 5 with a free account, no limit at S-Rank.
